According to Scitech Europa, it’s reported that the ExoMars Rover of the European Space Agency is set to undergo a series of extreme environmental temperature testing to ensure that it can “withstand the temperatures and large daily temperature variations on Mars.” The thermal testing is reported to last approximately two months and will include temperature testing of the rover’s mechanical structure, it’s electrical/thermal components, and its interfaces with scientific instruments.
This rover “will be the first of its kind to drill below the surface to see if evidence of life is buried underground, protected from the destructive radiation on the surface today.”
