Khoury Industries Develops Specialized Khoury Box for NASA Flight Center – May 2023:

Thanks to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Khoury Industries recently engineered a specialized Khoury Box that was constructed entirely out of non-magnetic components. This thermal test fixture was developed for the NASA Flight Center in an effort to help them test the functionality of magnetometers under the duress of space-like conditions. This Khoury Box features non-magnetic metals such as Titanium, Brass, and Aluminum, as well as a 50 foot non-magnetic flexible hose that attaches to the thermal source which drives the temperature fluctuations required for the testing, the fixture will be situated on the second story, at the center of the magnetic coils. Keeping the source at this distance allows the team to ensure that the magnetic field readings of the magnetometer are not impacted by factors outside of the thermal stress.

What are Magnetometers? Put simply, a magnetometer is a device that is capable of measuring magnetic induction – the intensity of a magnetic field. Though this may sound disarmingly straightforward, because of the sheer ubiquity of magnetic fields the magnetometer plays a vital role in research, development, and measuring the magnetic field of Earth for navigation both on the planet’s surface and hundreds of miles above it.
